Browser says its downloading a proxy script

Have you noticed Chrome showing &#;Downloading Proxy Script&#; message at the bottom when connecting to a website in the browser? If the message appears frequently and taking more time to load sites in the browser, then you should know, this is not the general behavior of Chrome browser, the good news is you can disable or fix that issue, here is how that can be done.

Why is Chrome displaying downloading proxy Script message when connecting to a website

This can happen if you&#;ve configured Chrome browser to load websites through a proxy.

The default Proxy setting in Windows also causes this issue.

If you&#;re using the internet connection at home for your computer and not set a web proxy in Chrome, then the Windows proxy settings won&#;t be applicable to your connection. You should disable automatically detect settings option in LAN settings to resolve the problem, here is how you can do that. Doing that improves tab loading time in the Chrome browser.

Fix Chrome&#;s Downloading Proxy Script Issue on Windows

1. Click on Chrome menu, select Settings

2. Scroll down to bottom of the Chrome Settings page and click Advanced

3. Scroll further down to System and click &#;Open Proxy Settings&#;

4. When Internet Settings dialog with Connections tab pops up, click on LAN Settings

Tip: You can avoid all of the above steps. Type www.cronistalascolonias.com.ar  in the Run dialog to open LAN Settings and click on the Connections tab.

5. Uncheck &#;Automatically detect settings&#; under Automatic Configuration, click OK twice to close the dialogs.

Done, from now on Chrome no longer check Proxy Settings you&#;ve set for your computer in Windows.
