Question:Q:AUSDOM AW HD camera not recognized by iMovie
Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.
Perhaps someone has solved this already. I bought an HD camera with USB interface (AUSDOM AW) thinking that iMovie on MacBook Pro would automatically recognize it. FaceTime recognizes it, but iMovie does not. I looked for other apps to capture MP4's, but did not see any clear alternatives. AUSDOM only offers a Windows driver. Any suggestions/workarounds other than running Windows would be appreciated. Thanks!

Don't add any software to any Mac using OS X later than
External camera that will work with your Mac will work with the software built into OS X.
Try saving a video recording with QuickTime. If you can do that, you can import the QT clip(s) into iMovie for editing.
To select among multiple connected QT cameras, use QT Preferences settings as shown here:
If more than one camera is connected, you can select among them there.
