Dell Webcam Center
Dell Webcam Center is a program that comes pre-installed on some Dell PC systems that is originally developed by Creative. It is a video capture utility which includes some funky extras.
Dell Webcam Center includes an easy-to-use user interface which allows you to perform basic video capture actions like capturing webcam streams and saving them as AVI or still images as JPG or BMP.
In addition to the photo and video capture functions of Dell Webcam Center, the application also allows you to take advantage of video monitoring with its included motion detection features. It can record video once it detects motion in front of the webcam. It can also create time-lapse videos.
In terms of Dell Webcam's funky features, it can also create cartoons of yourself which includes other people, animals and other characters. These "avatars" attempt to mimic your facial movements.
Overall, Dell Webcam is a pretty comprehensive webcam assistant and video capture utility for what it is -- something that's included for free with some Dell laptops.
