Trying to reinstall Windows 7 pro 64bit on an E that had a failed hard drive. New SSD installed, original Windows 7 Pro DVD used to reinstall. Installation went fine. However, whenever I try to install any of the Dell drivers, I get the following error:
"The procedure entry point AddDllDirectory could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNALdll"
I get this error no matter which driver I try - chipset, video, sata, network, whatever. I can't get a single Dell driver to install.
Here's what I have tried so far.
1. Wiped drive and reinstalled Windows from scratch. Same result.
2. Downloaded SP1 from microsoft (from a working computer) and installed on the E Installed without a problem. Still getting the entry point error.
3. Tried running SFC /scannow. Found no errors.
4. Tried booting off Windows install DVD, then running SFC /scannow using the installation media for reference. Found no errors.
5. Ran chkdsk /f. Found no errors.
6. Ran Dell diagnostics that is built in to the BIOS. Found no errors.
I've been working on computers for a long time and have not come across something like this. Because I can't get any drivers to install, I can't get any internet on the E, so I can't run any of the Dell online diagnostics. I'm out of ideas.
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks
