YouTube is an online platform to share and watch videos. It has millions of users spread across the world. Apart from online video watching, the videos can be downloaded on your device to watch them while you are offline. By downloading the videos from YouTube, you can watch them when you do not have access to the internet connection. The videos can be downloaded to watch offline using YouTube or YouTube music. You can watch auto-downloaded videos in the YouTube Kids application.

These applications should be available in your location to download videos offline. You have to be signed in with your YouTube premium.

How to download a video on YouTube?

Step 1: Open YouTube application on your mobile.

Step 2: Choose a video to watch on the YouTube application.

Step 3: Tap on the ‘download icon’ below the video player.

Step 4: Now, choose the quality of the video.

Step 5: As the video gets downloaded, ‘download icon’ below the video player will appear.

Step 6: You can go and view downloaded videos in the ‘library’ or ‘account’ tabs.

How to remove a downloaded video?

• Go to ‘downloaded icon’ and select ‘remove’.

How to change download settings?

• On some mobile devices, videos and playlists can be downloaded only when they are connected to a Wi-Fi network.

In order to download videos over a mobile network, go to ‘settings’.

Then, turn off ‘download over Wi-Fi only’ under ‘background & downloads.’

Some things to know about downloaded videos:

• You have to be logged in to your YouTube Premium account for downloading videos in order to watch offline.
• Certain actions like commenting and liking, will not be available when you are watching videos offline.
• The downloaded videos get renew automatically as long as you go online in your home country/region at least once every 30 days.
• Some videos may not be available offline at the time you reconnect to the internet due to content restrictions imposed by video creators.
• If your device loses connectivity while downloading a video or playlist, it will automatically continue to download after you reconnect to a mobile or Wi-Fi network.
• You can download videos in countries/regions only where YouTube Premium is available.
