I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

Do you get any error message while using the Printer? If yes, then provide us the exact details?

This issue might occur if the device settings are incorrect, corrupted, incompatible drivers or due to hardware problems. I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps:

Method 1: Try running a printing troubleshooter which is an automated tool that can find and automatically fix some problems with your PC

Method 2: Check if the print spooler dependency services are running.

a. Click Start, type www.cronistalascolonias.com.ar and hit Enter

b. Scroll down to Print spooler.

c. Right click and click properties, click the tab “Dependencies”

d. Note all of the dependent services listed, and then close the Print Spooler Properties window.

e. Repeat the above steps for the dependent services noted.

I can't even use the printer to get an error to show up!  That would be considered progress :)

Using Method 1: only tells me the print spooler stops during install (which I already know)  So I restart the print spooler as administrator and run it again and it the print spooler crashes again.  This just becomes a circular argument with the computer.

Method 2:  the only dependent service is the FaX.

So I went up to fax and started that service.

Restarted the print spooler

Restarted the Remote Procedure Call

Then downloaded the following driver for my device: (as administrator)

www.cronistalascolonias.com.ar?operatingSystem=win10x64&fileLanguage=en&&associatedProduct=WorkCentrexx-built-in%20controller&contentId=&from=downloads&viewArchived=false   

I run the install and I get the following error: Can't open Add Printer REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL FAILED, and I am back to square one again.

Method 3: I restarted the print spooler, checked the properties on the driver, and set compatibility for windows 8, and rand the install again and got the following error:

Can't open ADD Printer, Remote Procedure Call Failed.

So Nada, where do I go from here?  Thanks for your help with this, but so far not getting decent results installing this device.

Thank you for getting back with a reply. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

Failure of Remote Procedure Call and Remote Procedure Call Locater services may also result in the this error. So you should firstly confirm that these services are functioning properly.

I would suggest you to check the status of Remote Procedure Call locator service. Make sure the Remote Procedure Call status is Started and set to Automatic. RPC Locator should be set to Manual. Follow the below steps for the same:

a. Click Start and type www.cronistalascolonias.com.ar in the search box

b. Search for the Remote Procedure Call locator service

Make sure the start- up type is manual. Steps to set the services to automatic

c. Search for the service

d. Right click on the service

e. If the service is stopped then start the service

f. Select Properties

g. And in the Start-up type select Manual

I checked the services again to double check today and the RPC status was running and set on automatic. 

I tried that again and went into services and I changed the RPC Locator to manual as you suggested. 

I then went to install the driver for the Xerox and again the same window opens with the same Error:

Can't Open Add Printer: Remote Procedure Call Failed

I am beginning to think this is a one off issue, but it is still not working.  I appreciate any advice on next steps.
