No landscape mode??

I’m sure it’s not a big a deal for a phone, but not being able to use an iPad in landscape mode is really frustrating. Also, you can’t see any of the study schedules that you make on the website, so doing things on the go is a bit difficult. Being able to download the videos is super helpful though

Good content, awful app

A lot of people giving this app reviews are reviewing OME as a study tool and not the app itself. The app, as it stands right now, is virtually unusable (at least on iPad).

1. Glitches like crazy. I had to force close the app several times before I could even sign in because the fields for email and password wouldn’t display. The app glitches when trying to open “prime” documents.

2. When the prime documents are open, they are the only thing you can view in landscape. You can’t even see the whole video screen because it isn’t properly cropped natively to fit in portrait, and the app doesn’t flip into landscape. Seriously? This is quite literally the most basic feature of any app.

3. You can’t download the prime documents directly onto the iPad as a PDF if you want to take you own notes on them. Download on Desktop, upload to iCloud, then open on iPad would be the only way and I haven’t even had time to try that yet.

I’m sure there are other things I’m not remembering right now, but this app seems like it was released in mid development. And as a resource that would be really helpful to be able to use on the go, a poor app is as useful as none at all.

Great APP, in theory

1. Not iPad friendly. There is no landscape mode for the app which is a real bummer knowing that so many med students use iPads as main study tool, not to mention the Med Ed videos are filmed in LANDSCAPE. Right?

2. Flash card feature is Limited and glitchy- Some decks, even those for 30 minute videos, only have 5 or 6 flash cards associated with them. Also they have a sort of anti-style spaced repetition feature that can repeat the info every 7,14,and 30 days, but it literally doesn’t work. I have had no previous decks come up in the “due” folder.

3. Because of the lack of landscape, most app users end up opening their browsers to watch the videos, or watching them with their iPads vertically/ sideways. (Most iPad cases don’t allow the iPad to stand up vertically). This applies to the qbank feature as well.

I know it is a new app, so I am trying to be patient. But if the med ed people are reading this, make polishing the app a PRIORITY, us app users are the ones paying gobs of money. Soon as these issues are resolved, I can hop back on and give a 5 star review.
