Kodi File Download Progress Question

I started downloading that MB file at AM. It completed at PM. That speed explains why it was buffering so much when trying to stream. I doubt anything would have helped except for starting the stream and walking away for about 2 hours before watching.Jan 18th, pm
I certainly didn't babysit the download. I came home later in the evening and it was finally done. I had noted when it started by the timestamp of the 0 byte file record and used the time stamp of the downloaded file to determine when it ended.

Kodi File Download Progress Question
If you download a file in Kodi, is there a way to tell its progress? I recall in XBMC, there would be status messages that would flash in the lower right corner as the download hit milestones. I can't say I have ever seen that in Kodi.
I am currently downloading a file. The filename appears with 0 bytes in the download folder but my network meter says something is downloading at around kbit/s. I assume that is the file.
Is there another way to check the progress of a download in Kodi?

As lead says, it depends on the addon. If you're using Koodi on a PC, you can set the download folder of many addons by right-clicking the addon name and configuring the folder where you want the download to go.
Right now I'm downloading a MB FLV file. However, it started more than an hour ago. The reason why I'm downloading it is because it buffers too much when I try to stream it. My download meter says my download is varying from 20 kbit/s to kbit/s so it can take awhile.
I'm trying to figure out how much has been downloaded so far or if it's actually the file that's downloading.

If you're using a PC, just Alt Tab to your desk top and check the file size

That doesn't work this time - I guess because it's Kodi. The file is sitting at 0 bytes until it finishes. Refreshing changes nothing. Netguard is telling me I've downloaded MB so far.Gee wrote: ↑If you're using a PC, just Alt Tab to your desk top and check the file size

kodi downloads seem to sit at zero sometimes. I find restarting the download usually works.

in the advancesetting xml setting the cachemembuffersize to 0 from its default caches the file to disk vs a limited set amount to ram to help in bufferingPhils wrote: ↑As lead says, it depends on the addon.
