Probably a good product. I'm a huge fan of Apricorn's products because they're reliable and easy to use. I have the hard drive enclosures and they've been pretty rock-solid for years. I bought this cable because I had a mm height HDD that wouldn't fit into the enclosures, so this looked like the way to go.

Kept getting errors when trying to clone via the included software and others such as EaseUS TodoBackup. Then just tried a manual drag and drop. Files appeared to be corrupted when copied over that way. I assumed that the drive was old and likely on it's way out. Fast forward a few months, trying a similar project on another machine (this time a Mac), cloning from a HDD to SSD. Errors just as before (using Disk Utility, CarbonCopyCloner and SuperDuper), also tried doing a clean install on the SSD via the cable. This time I assumed it was a bad SSD and returned. Went back to the same project a few weeks later and different, better SSD, same errors. This time I tried doing a clean install to that SSD via this cable and could not get the clean install going. That's when the lightbulb finally went off in my head. I borrowed another USB-SATA product from a co-worker and the clone from HDD to SSD worked seamlessly. I went back to that first mm HDD and was able to clone and copy data via drag-and-drop using that other product with no errors and no data corruption. Long story short it appears the Apricorn SATA wire was defective and was corrupting the transferred data. Unfortunately it took me too long to realize and could not return at that point or get a warranty replacement.

TL;DR This is more a rating on myself. I'm really smart but also kinda really dumb. If your data is getting corrupted on transfer, try to rule out the cable and get a replacement ASAP if needed. I'm sure the product is good, I just got a dud and it took me too long to realize it.
