Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I have tried both your suggestions without success. After installing the software, when plugging in the USB dongle the first time, the device driver installation dialogue picked up 2 logitech composite usb devices and installed them successfully, but the mouse did not work.

After opening the unifying software application, it tells me to plug in a unifying receiver. Moving the usb dongle between my different usb ports returns seemly random results, from no change, to the usb receiver being recognised but then failing to pair with any devices, to "usb device not recognised" which only happens on my USB ports.

I have made a few screenshots available of the different results as well as my list of USB devices in the device manager, perhaps this will help.

Please advise what else I can do to resolve this issue.

Did you install the motherboard chipset drivers?

Uninstall the USB Composite devices

Unplug the Unifying Receiver.

Uninstall the Logitech SetPoint and Unifying software

Reboot

Install the Logitech SetPoint /and Unifying software

Plug the Receiver

Then, make sure the Anywhere mouse batteries are correctly inserted.

Keep the battery door closed.

Open the mouse's sensor door.

If the mouse does not respond, access the Unifying software and "re-pair" the mouse to the receiver.

The Unifying Receiver works in Windows 7. I have mine with several mouse / trackball and keyboards.

Thanks for your advice. I updated my chipset drivers and followed all your instructions exactly. When I plugged the receiver in the first time (USB port) it simply said "Device not recognised" again. When I plugged it into a USB port it said "Installing driver" and then the driver installation failed.

I then opened the Unifying software and went to the page where it asks you to plug in the receiver, and when I did this time it successfully installed 2 x USB composite devices.

I then placed brand new batteries int he mouse and opened the sensor door, and nothing happened. I then opened the unifying software again, and it simply does not pick up a device to pair with, no matter what sequence I try - closing/opening sensor door, closing opening software

I know that the Unifying Receiver "should" work as all my devices are found on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. You might have a 'dud' kit.

BTW: Do you get the Logitech mouse listed in Human Input Devices section??
