you can uninstall edge chromium, the legacy edge will then be available in the start menu list. the taskbar icon is not automatically restored but it can be pinned from the start menu.
you could try reinstalling to see if the problem remains.
to uninstall
settings -> apps -> apps & features
click on Microsoft edge
click the uninstall button
to reinstall edge chromium

After a full year of trying everything, everything, everything.
Tested **only** with a Surface Book Performance Base i7 from early
In device manger, disable the nVidia graphics device.
Others should test whether this also fixes the Acrobat crashes.
And whether reinstalling the driver works.

I have the same problem, and occurs on both Edge chromium and Google Chrome. I also have problems launching the Slack desktop app which i understandiunderstand also powered by chromium.
From an Edge crash, I opened one of the crash dump files in visual studio and the descriptive error is:
0xC
The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
As a test, I downgraded my Google Chrome browser to v (Dec ) and disabled Chrome's auto update, and the crashes stopped. (With auto update enabled, Chrome will quickly update to the latest version, which exhibits the crashes).

Hi there
Thank you for your email reply, and I check the solution you mentioned and the BITS is already running but, still, I have lot issues with microsoft edge chromium, it keeps crashing at any moment, when I open a new webpage, or if I have to fill some form, or I have to confirm something, it keeps crashing, and because of that I'm using another internet browser.
