Ghanian songstress Efya returns with a double touch, this time she joined forces with the world famous E.L on Heartbeat and BET award winner, Stonebwoy on Hele Mi.

Both songs are off her recently released album dubbed “Janesis”, the much anticipated twenty-one tracked body of work was released on April 22, . It was formerly planned for release at different periods from to One of the major hit single from the album is “Forgetting Me” which topped most radio and TV charts when released, the album’s promotion single dropped on January 11,

Efya kept us waiting why her album was in the works with T.I.N.T, an abbreviation for This Is Not The Album, the mixtape which was released on November 11, contains 13 songs, it was released as a predecessor to Love Janesis. “Getaway” and “Best In Me” were the singles used to promote the T.I.N.T mixtape and the full mixtape was made available for free download online. “Getaway” was released by Efya’s record label On November 10, prior to the release of the complete mixtape.

Janesis was originally scheduled for publication in the 3rd quarter of the year Nonetheless, the album was kept on hold till February and subsequently postponed again till April, , Forgetting Me, the promotional single which happens to be one of my best on the album was released on January 11, , and the record gained a huge response.

“Janesis” has beautiful songs like “I can”, “Jorley”, “Sometimes”, “Deception” ,“Gingam Too Much”, amongst others and also collaborations from topnotch artistes like Bisa, Sarkodie and E.L to mention a few. Three songs off the album, Forgetting Me, Jorley, Gingam Too Much and One of Your own featuring Bisa Kdei have already been released.

This album has melodious features of R&B, Afropop, Hip-hop, Ragga  and Neo-soul. These features are smartly combined with recurrent percussion playing end to end with cords. Lyrics are consistent in the Ghanaian tongue Twi (an Akan language).

Producers on Efya’s first ever official album apart from E.L include Killbeats, Bisa Kdei who as well coauthored “One of Your Own,” MA, Legendury Beats, Killbeats, alongside other prolific producers.

“Forgetting Me” is an influential song that conveys the story of affection and pain. The rising vocalist and writer did justice to each and every note with exactness and you can feel her passion for music when you listen to the song, the track symbolizes the peak of individual and professional development for the talented singer as she stays true to her game and continues to prove her melodic ability.
