Save PDF to iPhone
When we surf the internet with our Safari browser on iPhone, we find a lot of websites offering PDF documents. Although Safari browser for iOS can directly open the PDF files without the need of extra app, we might also want to download or save the online PDF files to our mobile. By downloading PDF offline, we can access them anytime we like without the need to frequently connect to the internet for the same PDF document. Safari can read PDF files, however normally we read books and PDF files with the iBooks app on iPhone. If your iPhone has not this app downloaded, go to get it from App Store, it is free. In this guide, we will show how you can download PDF files from a website to your iBooks app through Safari browser on iPhone.

Quickly Save PDF to iPhone
Open the PDF file with the Safari browser. In this experiment, I was reading an iPhone manual on Apple official website. It is very long and I cant finish reading soon, so I plan to download it from Apple website to my iPhone.
Wait for the PDF to load fully in Safari web browser, after that tap on the PDF file, you will see a Open In pops up at the upper section. See below screenshot.
If you tap on the Open In link / button again, you will get a horizontal list of all apps on your iPhone that are able to open or manage the PDF files, iBooks included. If you do not see iBooks there, make sure you have installed the app.
Tap on open in iBooks, the selected PDF file will be saved from the website to your iPhone. Saving PDF files to iBooks on the iPhone can make it very convenient to read them later. Best of all, you will not have to download the same PDF files again if you have multiple iOS devices. The saved PDF files can then be shared across all your other Apple devices, like iPad, iPod touch.
If you have downloaded or saved the PDF files on a PC or Mac computer and want to send them to your iPhone or iPad, you can transfer PDF or ebooks from computer to iPhone iPad through email, alternatively you an use iTunes to sync. When you have stored many PDF documents in iBooks, it will become difficult to find the PDF files you need especially when they do not have descriptive titles. You must rename the PDF files in iBooks so you can quickly find any PDF doc you want.
