Allow us to clarify. We’re not ageists. There’s nothing particuarly wrong with Miss McG…err, Flanagan (Miss McGill is dead. Tetley mourns the loss). She’s just old. Sixty-five years old, to be precise. And this is the inherent problem with what Swayze called “the only thing better than a glass of beer” – like everything else good in our lives, it happened a helluva long time ago.
But there is good news. The television rights to Youngbloodare held by Versus, which airs the film during the Stanley Cup playoffs. That means we’re less than six months away from Miss McG regaining cultural relevance.
