Introduction and Summary

This guide was created from the well known Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition. This would not exist without his hard work on Skyrim Revisited Legendary Edition. Some of the mods and information from this guide are a result of Neovalen's work.

Legend

Each mod or tool is preceded by a tag for easier management of the guide:

• - This mod is a full part of the guide and is expected to be installed.
• This isn't a mod, but a modding utility to be used during your modding adventure.
• - This mod is optional. This is an addition considered useful to the setup, but might be more of a personal preference.
• - This tag represents patches for the mods we use in the guide that can be downloaded in our patch central nexus page.
• - This mod is to be used only for users looking for a High-Quality visual experience. This doesn't necessarily mean it should be avoided at all cost by low-end system users, but simply that the performance hit might not be worth the visuals improvements on weaker machines.

To use this guide to it's fullest extent the following tools must be installed and configured as specified.

Prerequisites

Before we start moding Skyrim we need to perform few steps to the game and set up some tools to work with during this adventure. You can find all the information on how to do this on this page -> Prerequisites Page. Do not skip this step.

Mod Installation

Critically Important! The first time a mod is installed that contains .bsa file Mod Organizer will prompt to extract it. Respond [Yes] and check the box labeled "Remember Selection" to prevent future prompts. If the prompt is needed again in the future simply click "Reset Dialogs" in Mod Organizer's settings menu.

SKSE Plugins

Special Installation: Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s):

Mod Notes: OneTweak is a Script Extender plugin mainly used for Borderless Window Mode OneTweak supports most Bethesda games on Gamebryo engine: Skyrim, Fallout3, FalloutNV and Oblivion!

Unofficial Patches and Base Textures

[Optimized Vanilla Textures]

Special Installation: High Definition Base Game Textures for Everyone (Part 1 of 2)

Leave it Packed in the BSA

1. Click the Spanner and screwdriver icon in the top left hand corner of Mod Organizer.
2. Click the Plugins tab.
3. Locate BSA Extractor (should be the top one).
4. in the right side panel double click Enabled and set to FALSE.
5. Install mod
6. Once installation is complete reset BSA Extractor back to TRUE.

Special Installation: Manually download High Definition DLC for ModOrganizer Users (Part 2 of 2 - Extract Me) the do the following:

1. Extract the contents of High Definition DLC for ModOrganizer Users (Part 2 of 2 - Extract Me).
2. Make sure MO is closed first then Copy and Paste Dawnguard - HD (Install Me via MO).7z, HearthFires - HD (Install Me via MO), Dragonborn - HD (Install Me via MO).7z to Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\downloads.
3. Load MO and install the 3 new archives as separate Mods.

Post Installation: Remove the Skyrim High Resoultion Texture via STEAM.

Mod Notes: this mod provide optimized Base Texture for those not doing the DDSOpt method themselves.

Mod Notes: The unofficial patch project is a comprehensive bug fixing mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the goal of which is to eventually fix every bug with Skyrim and its DLCs not officially resolved by the developers to the limits of the Creation Kit and other community-developed tools in one easy-to-install package.

Mod Notes: This mod further optimizes lots of textures and making the High Resolution DLC unnecessary.

[Better Jumping]

Mod Notes: This mod can allows sprint jumping, double jump, changing jump height multipliers (compatible with other mods that change jump height) and some other things. None of this works with horses. By default only sprint jump is enabled.

[Better Stealing]

Mod Notes: This mod fixes the issue in Skyrim where an item is marked stolen even if no-one saw you take it. Items of value will still be marked stolen as they would be reported as such and more recognizable than common clutter.

Mod Notes: This mod is an SKSE plugin that fixes some engine related bugs in game.

[Crash Fixes]

Mod Notes: This plugin is meant to fix some common crashes AFTER you have followed STEP guides and sensible modding rules! It does not fix problems that come from modding irresponsibly or conflicts between mods.

[Enchantment Reload Fix]

Mod Notes: There is a game engine bug that causes weapon enchantments to drain more charges after the player saves and reload the game. The price of enchanted weapons also jumps significantly higher. These problems become worse as enchanting skill increases. Once the player character has reached a high level and begins placing more than one enchantment on a weapon, the charges can drain extremely quickly after game reload. This mod fixes those issues.

[Follower Trap Safety]

Mod Notes: This mod changes a few base scripts and as a result followers and summoned creatures should no longer trigger traps. Unfortunately, the game AI does not allow followers to avoid traps.

[Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice]

Special Installation: Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s):

Mod Notes: This mod enhances support for unvoiced in-game dialog. It does so by coercing the engine, in a non-violent way, into playing a generic silent voice and lip synch[sup]1[/sup] file whenever it comes across a dialog response without voice assets of its own. Ergo, mod authors need not create and bundle silent voice files in their distribution packages.

Mod Notes: Horns on Argonians will always show, except on headgear that covers the entire head.

Mod Notes: This mod places road signs at several major intersections that were either lacking signs, or didn't have enough signs to indicate the full extent of possible travel on a road. In some cases, the smaller towns and villages aren't even mentioned - despite Bethesda having created signs for them! Others that were pointed the wrong way or had the wrong city being represented have been fixed as well.

[Skyrim - Enhanced Camera]

Mod Notes: This is a skse plugin that enables a visible body when in first person using a hybrid mode (vanilla 1st person arms with 3rd person body). Also, any points where the game force switches to 3rd person (sitting, crafting, riding, werewolf, knockout/death, etc.) are now in 1st person.
