TechPowerUp today announced NVCleanstall, its latest original software designed to give PC enthusiasts and gamers unparalleled control over the installation of NVIDIA GeForce software. Besides the actual driver for your GeForce graphics processor, NVIDIA GeForce software includes close to a dozen optional components, not all of which can be opted out of in the "Custom" installation screen of NVIDIA's installer. Among these are Telemetry, which regularly sends your usage data to NVIDIA, and drivers for stereoscopic 3D, Shield, etc. These components may not all be useless or harmful, but aren't strictly required for your GPU to work and render graphics like it should. NVCleanstall has a clean user interface that begins with a screen that lets you choose the software version you want. It can either fetch the latest software from the Internet for you, or lets you select a downloaded NVIDIA GeForce software package (installer binary) from your PC, or lets you fetch a specific driver version you want from the Internet. You are then presented with an exhaustive list of components to install, categorized under the main components, and GeForce Experience. You can also select from our curated presets if you're not sure. In the following page, the app prepares your installation. In this screen, you can select from useful additional tweaks, including disabling the installer's own telemetry, scripting an unattended install, and pre-checking the "clean install" option in the NVIDIA driver installer. After that, NVCleanstall spawns the NVIDIA installer to install what you selected in NVCleanstall, or take you to the customized driver files. NVCleanstall has been put through months of rigorous testing from our community of PC enthusiasts. The app gives you not just greater control over your NVIDIA software, but also reduces the disk usage and memory footprint of your NVIDIA software.

The file you manually downloaded? It does not, you might want to keep that file, and it doesn't know that.

The downloaded files when you install from Internet (using option 1 or 2) should be cleaned up though.

I am highlighting the install best driver for my hardware but it doesnt do anything. I click next but nothing. Same with Manually select a driver version

hmm, I closed it and reopened it about 4 times and 5th time it worked. I did it before the scanning above was done.

Dont know what I was doing wrong. Will take screenshots if it does it again to me.

Oh. I wish to say thank you. This is a fantastic program so far and is very helpful.

Any commercial license limitations? I'd like to use this on the desktops in my department.

I did. But after a couple of times of closing and opening it worked. Still had same message.

I am getting "Internet connection required". I tried running it as administrator but no banana. I am not using proxy or VPN of any sort..

Seems it's not working for me. Windows 7 Pro SP1 bit, GTX Ti. After initial loading it says Internet connection required on the first two options, clicking next does nothing.

I can't tell from the article if this is a straight replacement for DDU or if it is not able to clean up the registry and other errant files in the same way. Sometimes my GPU scaling option breaks and I have to nuke from orbit. I guess I'll give this a try at some point to see if it does the trick.

Love TPU software (and more things :-)

Question: this is made because it is a much needed solution, isn't it? Or just for some rare cases? I say this because I went back and forth with an ATI card in between 2 Nvidia cards, and It was not issue-less.

This is not what ddu does. Ddu removes, this modifies before installs

While it definitely works as it should, I was testing it out last night and for some odd reason it would always fail to install a generic "PCI Device" driver on my RTX Not really that big of a deal but after a while I gave up and went with the default driver install off the Nvidia website :/

hmm just wonder if this is normal or not, but why it took so long, it almost 5minutes waiting for aloading before installation begun
is this just me with my potato pc?! or ayone had to waiting for the 5minute aswell:kookoo:

Do i still need to use the DCH driver or can i use the regular driver?

I hate having to download the nvidia control panel from the Microsoft store.
