Go to your Settings:

www.cronistalascolonias.com.ar

Then click on "Request my Flickr data" at the bottom of the right hand column.

Be aware that even with the method Mabel describes, there is a possibility that you could have problems with the resulting zip files. Issues have been reported by other members regarding failed zips.

Also note that each zip file will contain photos, so you will have multiple files to download. Many in your case.

Just to add
Flickr will send Email with link to Download your zip files of images.
Some Members have reported that the Flickr mail ended up in their Spam/Junk folder so check there just in case as the link is time limited
Also it may take awhile to get as there is a lot of Data requests happening just now

Use wget or other download managers to download the zip files btw

You could also try creating more than one album for downloading, so you can control the sheer number of images getting downloaded at once (possibly preventing some of the failure rates people have experienced with the mass data download).

Make 18 albums, put photos in each. That way you're only downloading at a time, and if something fails the whole batch isn't lost.

Or - even better - 36 albums with photos in each.

That's what they'd get with the bulk download tool.

kmacgray: The difference is the bulk download tool throws everything together and you don't know what photos are in which zip file. So if a zip file is corrupted you don't know what photos you lost or need to go back and try again.

Doing it manually by putting your photos into your own discreet albums, gives you fallback/recovery options in case the zip for an album fails. You know exactly which album, and you know which photos they were. Could keep you from having to redo an 18, file download, instead only having to redo a single photo (or photo ) album.

When I try to add them to a single album so I can download that album as a zip it times out - spend more than a day trying to create the album and then fails. I am worried they are going to delete all my photos and that I can't get them down

A. The automatic deletion wont start until the beginning of February, so you have time to figure how and when to download.
b. You have three options to download:
1. Click on the download icon associated with each photo/album you have.
2. Go to your settings and click on "request data"
3. Look into Bulkr, it's not a perfect solution, but it may help you. There's a free version and a pay to use version, but like I said, it's not a perfect solution.

how about from a group? I can't seem to find a way to download without having to go photo by photo? I don't have any issue downloading from camera roll or album.
Posted 24 months ago. ( permalink )

The Searcher says:

www.cronistalascolonias.com.ar: Group photos don't belong to you (unless I guess if you're the only one posting to a group). The bulk download options are only for our own photos inside our own accounts.

Also, groups don't contain actual photos, just visual links to the original images in the group members' respective photostreams.

Since groups don't contain photos, you can't download them from there.

Probably just trying not to exceed the 4GB per ZIP file limit for larger images approaching 7MB per shot.

Hi,

When I am requesting data from my account, it is not sending the original images, but the smaller "Large" sized images. How can I get the original ones, other than going through one photo at a time?

Roderick Stoner:

Why do you think they are not original images?
Posted 24 months ago. ( permalink )

Roderick Stoner says:

~andre:

Why? So they make us pay to keep the files? We took the trouble of uploading them to Flickr, now they are saying, pay or we delete, (sounds like ransomware). Would have made more sense if they said pay or you won't be able to add more photos/videos and that's that.

The least they can do is make it easy for us to get our photos back in the original size we uploaded them and also including all the EXIF data.

~andre says:

Roderick Stoner:

You misunderstood me. I'm not asking why would you need the originals, but rather how did you determine that the images you are getting back are not original images?

Other users report that requesting data from Your account settings page retrieves the original files although they sometimes get corrupted files due to technical glitches. So far I haven't read a single report by another user that a smaller sizes is downloaded via the accounts setting page.

The Searcher says:

Roderick Stoner: If the full data download doesn't work, you can still download individual albums, either your existing ones or ones specially created for downloading. Would be faster than a single image at a time, and you may have more control over what you are downloading than via the all-or-nothing data download.

Also check to make sure you just didn't have smaller content than you remember, as opposed to Flickr not downloading your originals. That happens quite a lot, as older photos tend to be much smaller resolution than current photos.
Posted 24 months ago. ( permalink )

Roderick Stoner says:

~andre:

Because the original images are 12MB whilst the ones I downloaded from Flickr are KB Also the resolution of the original is * whilst the one I got from Flickr is *

In addition, the first time I requested my data, the images did not have the EXIF data, on my second request, I got the EXIF data.

Downloading a photo at a time is a problem since I have thousands (21K+) of photos.

Do you no longer have the originals elsewhere? Are they only on Flickr?

Roderick Stoner:

Because the original images are 12MB
Are you uploading RAW images by any chance?

Also, if you get the original image on the photo page (as opposed to the one from the ZIP file), do you get 12 MB back?

Hi, I am in a similar position although have since received the zip files by email, however, the photos are presented as .JSON files. I don't seem to be able to open these, can I not get them as JPEG files? How are others getting around this. Thank you
Posted 24 months ago. ( permalink )

kmacgray says:

MattFassihi:

The JSON files are the associated metadata (comments, etc) and not the images. You should also have additional zip files which contain the photos.
